The most important part of your stories is that they ALWAYS need to be told from the same vantage point. And that is what is important to the person you are talking to. In other words, what does company care about and how does that relate to what you are talking about.

Your most important story is your Super Hero Story. This will frame your entire application (and get used over and over again). It's purpose it to tell a company why they need to hire YOU (over anybody else) in just one sentence.

And, again, communicating with authority is a process. It has rules that you can learn and apply to your job search.
For example, there is always a lot of stress around follow up. So, when you aren't sure, here is a rule for you. Don't follow up with any one person more than 2 times in 1 week or 4 times in one month. But, every time they get back to, the clock resets. (Oh, and by the way, Friday afternoons and early Monday mornings are not effective times for follow up!)
